A mathematical formula that was developed by Dr. Genichi Taguchi in Japan in which the result is listed in money terms. It is a formula that estimates the loss of quality that occurs as the result of a product having a variation from the desired quality.
The complete list of activities including incentives, policies, plans, resources, organisation, that is reuired in order to implement a quality control system that will ensure an efficient and effective method of producing a desired product.
The activities of management that will create a quality control policy. A department will determine and manage all aspects of quality control to maintain quality and to continue to improve it.

This is the measure, quantitatively, of the quality of a product. It measures the attributes and characteristics of the product that is being measured.

The level of quality that has been deemed suitable for each product. It is the quality that a product is wanted to reach before it is made available for sale to the public.
While maintaining quality of a product, the product must still conform to all effective design and manufacturing processes. An efficient and effective method of manufacturing is still needed while quality control is important.
