A term that is used in medical jurisprudence where the usual method of treatment in a given community and as practiced by the ethical and well trained physicians of that community.
The keeper of the writs. A principal clerk belonging to the courts of queen’s bench and common pleas, whose office it was to keep the writs returnable into those courls. The office was abolished by 1 Wm. IV. c. 5.
